Triple Crown Studio was invited to capture a typical training day at the stable of famous trainer, Kathy P. Mongeon. It was really amazing to watch the brave and talented exercise riders galloping these beautiful and powerful thoroughbred race horses around the track as the sun rose over the Palm Meadowns Equestrian Center, located in Palm Beach County, Florida. The racing industry gets a bad rap, and it was our intention to discover just what goes on behind the scenes. I personally saw no abuse of any kind and all the horses were treated like royalty and were given as much love and attention as a family pet would receive. The photos below were taken in March of 2008. One of Kathy's passions in life is to make sure that when these horses racing days are over she finds them a loving home were they can continue their careers in jumping, dressage or simply a beloved pet.
